Sivas

Sivas sits in the foothills of the Asterousia Mountains, which stretch along the southeast shore of Crete. It has a delightful village square fronted by half a dozen tavernas and a children’s playground adjacent the church and village school, also there is an excellent pottery just off the village square. Sivas is popular with German tourists and therefore new dwellings have sprung up in the last few years. On Wednesday evenings the tavernas put on traditional music with local Cretan performers.

Sivas is on the route to the Monastery Odigitrias, the Agio Farago Gorge and the back road to Kali Limenes.
